At present, how to use tools correctly during machining is very important.
Due to not familiar with tool features during processing and failure to follow the instructions will lead to many unexpected situations. In following, RBT makes an example to illuminate how to correctly use the roller burnishing tool.
Processing requirements: Using the through burnishing tool to burnish an inner hole with diameter of φ20, and then to obtain a good finish and wear resistance of the workpiece after burnishing.
Workpiece material: VT6 OST 190006-86.
Workpiece hardness: 255 to 341HB
Tension: 0.07mm (28 divisions on the tool)
Spindle speed: 300rpm
Feed rate: 210 mm/min
Problem description: Using the through burnishing tool to burnishing inner surface of workpiece hole, the through burnishing tool is worn out after processing 10 workpieces, and the roughness of each workpiece is getting worse asymptotically.
Solution: As the phenomenon of images, which the roller and axis are blacked, which is caused by burnishing tool is too tight contacting the workpiece, so loosen the adjuster a little bit will be better.
